FIRE FINDER II
MODEL 955 - INFRARED HEAT SENSOR

New, small, lightweight, sensitive and patented version of the infrared
heat scanner made by DYN-OPTICS for 20 years.

  • Fire Finder's infrared heat sensor will detect a small hot spot that the firefighter's eyes may miss - even through a glass window. Helps prevent rekindling during mop-up.
  • Operates in full sunlight or in a dense smoke filled room.
  • Gives an instantaneous audible alarm where the pitch is proportional to the temperature of the hot spot or fire.
  • Indicates the way to the fire area without demanding any eye attention.
  • Includes audible self-test to verify operation of batteries, detector and electronics.
  • Detects super-heated air prior to flashover.
  • Detects invisible chemical flame.

SPECIFICATIONS
  • Sensitivity - Responds to 200 degrees F hot area one foot square at 20 feet.
  • Heat Indication - An audible alarm will sound when the FIRE FINDER II is pointed at a hot spot. The pitch of the alarm is proportional to the temperature - the higher the temperature, the higher the pitch.
  • Sensitivity to sunlight - Detects a cigarette on a hot sidewalk in full sunlight.
  • Response Time - Less than 0.1 second to full audible alarm.
  • Construction - Durable water resistant aluminum housing. No plastic components.
  • Operation - Simple on-off switch.
  • Built-in self-test - Initiated when unit is turned on to assure the operator unit is functioning properly.
  • Power - Four 1.5 volt AA batteries that can easily be replaced by removing rear cover.

The original Fire Finder was developed by Dyn-Optics in 1980 and has been upgraded on several occasions. The current compact and lightweight Fire Finder II Model 955 reflects the latest electronic state-of-the-art components. The Fire Finder II incorporates two new features: 1) the HELP WANTED ALARM activated by the firefighter and 2) a BATTERIES NEED CHANGING ALARM. In addition, the Fire Finder II Model 955 has been tested and certified intrinsically safe to be used in explosive environments, in conformity with MIL-STD-202F, method 109B.

Dyn-Optics has a patent on the Fire Finder. Any other device representing to be a Fire Finder or heat sensor may be counterfeit or infringe on the patent.
